Ciudad Nueva is a non-profit organization based in El Paso, TX, dedicated to empowering youth, equipping leaders, supporting families, and strengthening the community in the Rio Grande District. Through their holistic youth programs, they provide a nurturing space for students to find friends, mentors, and a sense of belonging. They also focus on identifying and mobilizing student and adult leaders, connecting families with essential resources, and facilitating opportunities for community members to come together and collaborate with other non-profits. With a mission to cultivate hope and empower children and families, Ciudad Nueva strives to create a successful future for the Rio Grande District. They highlight the existing assets of the community members and offer programs like the Catalyst program for high school students and a small business incubator with microloans. HistoryStarted in 2006 over coffee when a small group of Veteran entrepreneurs saw the need for a Veteran's voice in small business issues. Since our inception, we have begun morphing into a Chamber of Commerce for Veteran Owned Businesses.SpecialtiesWe are a private association of Veteran Owned Businesses (VOSB's) in the El Paso Texas area - we have chartered a Resource Center for Veterans and family members for business counseling and we act as a clearing house for basic information and referrals.

The Department of Community and Human Development works to enhance human services, expand housing opportunities, and improve the quality of life for low- and moderate-income individuals. It works with a team of more than 60 staff members. The department is responsible for improving facilities, such as parks, libraries, streets, and community and senior citizen centers. The Department of Community and Human Development administers the Emergency Shelter Grant program. The department also conducts the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, which serves over 100 nonprofit organizations and agencies. The Department of Community and Human Development is governed by the city of El Paso in Texas.
