Art Tontiplaphol, MD, FACC is Board Certified in Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Cardiovascular CT, and he practices at the Medical Center location of Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio. Dr. Tontiplaphol was exposed to the medical profession at an early age. He accompanied his father, an internist, on house calls and often watched his mother, a radiologist, at work, too. Today, Dr. Tontiplaphol's son and daughter have four grandparents who are physicians! After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry from Rice University in Houston, Texas, Dr. Tontiplaphol studied medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his internship and residency at University of Virginia Health Science Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, and completed his Cardiologys fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Methodist Debakey Heart Center in Houston, Texas. He practiced with South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants for four years before joining Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio in 2010. Dr. Tontiplaphol is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of a number of other professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the American Heart Association.
