Academy for Academic Excellence DRC Campus

The Academy for Academic Excellence, established in 1999, offers specialized educational services to students within Dallas County Juvenile Department institutions and those transitioning from residential placements back to their homes. With a focus on individualized assessment and planning, the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of pre and post-adjudicated youth, including preparation for high school equivalency exams and career and technology education.

Comprising four campuses, the Academy provides a range of services to at-risk learners, including Special Education and English as a Second Language programs delivered by state-certified staff. Students receive instruction in core subjects and benefit from small class sizes for personalized attention to address areas of improvement.

One of the Academy's campuses, the Day Reporting Center, serves as a transitional facility aiming to ready students for reintegration into traditional educational settings.
