Back Yard Burgers opened its first restaurant in 1987 and its first franchised restaurant in 1988. It specializes in serving grilled 100 percent Black Angus beef burgers and charbroiled chicken sandwiches. Most Back Yard Burgers restaurants include a full dining room with a self-service beverage center and a single drive-through.
