In 1982, at the age of 19, Chuck Hope opened Chucks Turnpike Gulf Station in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Chuck grew up around the automotive industry; his father owned and managed several gas stations and was a skilled repairman. Initially, Chuck studied masonry after high school and planned to take a different path than his father had, but when he had the opportunity to buy the car care center from the previous owner, he couldnt pass it up.
