Dr. Lochmann is a Navy veteran and orthopedic surgeon with 22 years of experience in general orthopedics. He has experience in sports medicine and traumatology and has also received special training in hyperbaric and diving medicine. Dr. Lochmann played baseball and basketball at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis. while obtaining his undergraduate degree. He has published articles on the treatment of supracondylar femur fractures, shoulder surgery approaches, osteofibrous dysplasia, the treatment of ectopic bone, and more. Dr. Lochmann is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. In his spare time, he enjoys bird hunting, archery, rifle hunting and spending time outdoors with his wife, Nicole, and their German shorthaired pointer, Jetta. Dr. Lochmann is now accepting new patients in Newcastle.

Kelsey Johnson is a Rapid City native who graduated from Stevens High School. She received a scholarship to play soccer at the University of Central Arkansas where she completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. While pursuing her Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APN) degree, she worked in an inpatient rehabilitation facility and was a clinical instructor for the undergraduate nursing program at the University of Central Arkansas. Kelsey has a passion for helping people and getting to know her patients on a personal level. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and hearing their stories. She is happily married with two sons. Kelsey and her family love exploring the Black Hills and all things outdoors, including hiking, biking, snow-skiing, fishing and camping at the lake. Kelsey is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Joseph Humpherys is an Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and joint preservation. He is an expert in shoulder, hip and knee arthroscopy with an emphasis on knee ligament repair/reconstruction, joint cartilage restoration, hip preservation and patellofemoral joint abnormalities. Dr. Humpherys completed his Orthopedic Residency in Modesto California where he took care of collegiate and high school athletes. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Missouri (SEC Division 1), where he served as a team doctor for football, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics and baseball. He currently serves as the team surgeon for South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Dr. Humpherys believes each patient should be treated like they were his family member. He enjoys hiking, boating, wood working and spending time with his wife and five children.
