York County Natural Gas Authority provides residential, commercial and industrial gas service throughout York County in South Carolina. The authority was created by act of the South Carolina General Assembly in 1954. It is a political subdivision of the state of South Carolina that operates as a nonprofit corporation and is governed by a 10-member board. The authority s service area includes all of York County and the northeast portion of Cherokee County in South Carolina. Service is also available in and around Rock Hill, York, Clover, Fort Mill, Tega Cay, River Hills, Smyrna, McConnells, Sharon and Hickory Grove, S.C. YCNGA has more than 1,000 miles of distribution mains and serves approximately 41,000 customers. It also sells an assortment of fire logs, grills, space heaters, gaslights and other products.
