Xaviera Maya Carter, MD

Bhairav Shah, MD, PharmD, recieved his medical degree from the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey, and his doctor of pharmacy degree from the Rutgers Ernest J. Mario School of Pharmacy in New Brunswick. He completed his residency in general surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk and a fellowship in pediatric surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. His interests include pediatric minimally invasive surgery, thoracic disorders, necrotizing enterocolitis as well as bowel rehabilitation for patients with short gut syndrome.

David E. "Trey" Brown, MD, graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed his pediatric residency at Prisma Health Children's Hospital–Midlands, where he was selected as chief resident in 2003. His completed a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine.

Rebecca Williams Widener, MD, is a native of South Carolina. Prior to medical school, she became involved with Family Connection of SC, a nonprofit for families who have children with special needs. Through them, Dr. Widener became interested in pediatric care. She attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, then pursued a residency in pediatrics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. After serving as chief resident her last year there, she went on to Birmingham, Alabama, to specialize in pediatric infectious diseases at The Children's Hospital at the University of Alabama. Widener is excited to be part of Prisma Health Children's Hospital and UofSC as a pediatric infectious disease specialist.
