Farmers Telephone Cooperative, founded in 1951, is a local, multi-faceted telecommunications company headquartered in Kingstree, S.C. It serves more than 60,000 customers within a coverage area of 3000 miles. It provides technology to businesses and residents in the South Carolinas Williamsburg, Lee, Sumter, Clarendon and Florence counties. A veteran in the telephone industry, Farmers is the 3rd largest telephone cooperative in the United States. Two affiliate corporations fall under Farmer s umbrella FTC Communications and FTC Diversified Services.
