Guided natural history excursions of local rivers and marshes My name is Hastings Hensel, and I started River Reader Kayaking to offer people a way of immersing themselves in the beautiful, wonderful waters of the Waccamaw Neck region of coastal SC. I grew up in SC, have lived and paddled in Murrells Inlet for 14 years, and I teach English at Coastal Carolina University. For the past three years, I have worked as a kayak guide, and I know how to keep it low-key and local!
