Dynatech was formed in 1986 by four brothers, Sam, Nicky, Dennis, and Tim Blackwell. Sam and Dennis each were operating individual machine shops and made the decision to combine resources in order to expand. Sam's background was in engineering. He had worked for years with Tandematic, Young Engineering. Dennis had been in machining most of his life with companies such as Homelite, Zima and Kusters Machine. Nicky was the maintainence foreman at Phillips Fibers. Tim was in sales with Liberty Life and also had a background in computers.
