Founded in 1981, Prisma Health Blue Ridge Orthopedics is one of the largest orthopedic groups in the Upstate. The DaVita Upstate Dialysis Center offers a range of health care services. It provides peritoneal dialysis and in-center hemo and nocturnal solutions. The center is a part of DaVita, which is one of the leading providers of dialysis services in the United States. The parent company serves individuals diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. It operates more than 1,000 outpatient dialysis facilities and acute units in over 600 hospitals. The parent company maintains locations in nearly 40 U.S. states and serves approximately 110,000 patients. It also offers several renal-related services under the Lifeline Vascular Access, DaVita Clinical Research, DaVita Laboratory Services, DVA Laboratory Services, DaVita Rx and VillageHealth brands.

John Bruch, MD, is a graduate of University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Following three years as an internist in the U.S. Navy, he pursued an endocrinology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina. Most of his career has been in practice and teaching at Prisma Health. He is the medical director of the Upstate’s Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Program at Prisma Health and plays a leading role in managing diabetes in the hospital. He enjoys taking care of patients with diabetes and who have thyroid and general endocrine disorders.
