Dr. Shirley specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Shirley received a degree in biology from the University of North Carolina and his doctorate in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at GHS and a fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery at the University of Utah. Dr. Shirley is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Healthy Living is a research program tailored for individuals who have recently undergone total knee replacement surgery, aimed at helping them manage their health and lifestyle behaviors effectively. The program offers 12 months of telephone support from a health coach who assists participants in setting goals and gaining confidence in managing their health post-surgery. Eligible participants are those who have had knee replacement surgery within the last six months and reside in the Columbia or Greenville regions. The program incorporates structured coaching calls, behavior tracking, and in-person study visits to promote healthy habits and self-management skills. Generated from the website
