Palmetto Health-USC Pediatric Pulmonology

At Prisma Health OB/GYN, we're dedicated to providing exceptional women's health care in a nurturing, progressive environment. Treating women of all ages, we work to serve as advocates for our patients in Columbia, Lexington and the greater Midlands region of South Carolina. Our all-female team of professionals is comprised of physicians who are board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and are active fellows of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

At Prisma Health Children's Hospital Outpatient Center, we are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the children of South Carolina through education, patient care and research. We provide comprehensive pediatric care to the children of Richland and Lexington counties, as well as our 17-county referral area, coordinating patient care and teaching through our location and at Prisma Health Children's Hospital–Midlands. Our physicians are responsible for patient care and teaching in the Outpatient Center, where more than 15,000 outpatient visits take place annually. We also oversee an active inpatient teaching and referral service at the Children's Hospital and serve as the region's only pediatric hospitalist physician group.

Whitney Winn Brown, MD, received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. She then completed her residency in pediatrics at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital/University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, serving as chief resident her last year. Dr. Brown returned to the University of Alabama School of Medicine to complete a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology in 2008. She then served as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, affiliated with TC Thompson Children's Hospital, specializing in pediatric endocrine disorders. Dr. Brown now welcomes the opportunity to return to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to serve as an assistant professor of pediatrics specializing in the treatment of pediatric endocrine disorders.
