Niren Kapoor, MD, PhD

Emily Blake Sheridan was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She attended Clemson University where she earned her bachelors degree in Biological Sciences in May of 2016. Emily Blake attained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina in July of 2020 and became a board certified physician assistant in August of 2020. During her time at MUSC, Emily Blake was an active member of the student executive board as the SCAPA Representative. Also while studying at MUSC, she developed an interest in the field of neurology, especially the sub-specialty of neurosurgery. Outside of clinical practice, Emily Blake enjoys volunteering throughout her community. She has volunteered with numerous organizations including Greer Community Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, and the Ronald McDonald House. While working as a physician assistant with the Department of Neurosurgery at MUSC, Emily Blake hopes to continue volunteering throughout the Charleston community.

Amanda Geiter is a Physician Assistant practicing in the Burn Surgery Department at MUSC. Amanda has previous experience in trauma surgery, emergency general surgery and surgical/trauma critical care at a level one trauma center in Richmond, Virginia. She has dedicated her career to providing patient-centered medical care and support to patients and families during what is often the most traumatic and painful moments of their lives. Amanda has been a nationally certified Physician Assistant since 2017. She has a Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She also has a Bachelors of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. Amanda is involved in multiple organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Amanda has recently transitioned to the burn surgery team at MUSC and plans to build on her current clinical interests with focus on burn management and resuscitation, wound healing, non-opiate methods of pain control, and injury prevention. She looks forward to serving Charleston and the surrounding communities.

Brielle Paolini, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) specializing in Breast Imaging in Charleston, SC. Dr. Paolini completed her diagnostic radiology training at MUSC. Dr. Paolini graduated Salutatorian from Cape Henry Collegiate in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She attended undergraduate at the College of William and Mary where she also competed on varsity at Division I golf for four years. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Neuroscience in 2010. Dr. Paolini was then awarded an MD/PhD scholarship to Wake Forest School of Medicine where she completed a seven-year program from 2010-2017. Dr. Paolini earned her PhD in Neuroscience in 2015 involving work on Complex Brain Networks, and she completed her MD degree in 2017. While at Wake Forest, Dr, Paolini spent seven years studying and researching on Neuroscience and other topics and she participated in the Mind and Life Institute, lectured on high-performance teams and mental toughness and co-founded the Student Wellness Center. Dr. Paolini then started an internship and residency in Radiology at MUSC. During her time there, Dr. Paolini sat on multiple hospital committees. Dr. Paolini has a passion for teaching, and she has received multiple teaching awards. Dr. Paolini has more than 11 publications, 3 book chapters and 13 invited talks. Her current research interests including breast cancer genetics, utilization of breast MRI and leadership training. Notably, Dr. Paolini received the Radiology Society of North America-Roentgen Research Award in 2022. Dr. Paolini also has multiple clinical interests involving access to breast care, high-risk breast cancer screening and medical wellness. Dr. Paolini currently resides in Charleston, SC with her husband. She enjoys lecturing on leadership and teambuilding, researching nutrition topics, painting, ballroom dancing, golfing, meditation/yoga and pilates in her free time.
