She is a local graduate of the University of South Carolina-Lancaster where she obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2013. Leah was a bedside nurse at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center for 6 years. Leah completed her Master's Degree in Nursing from Walden University in 2018 and became a board-certified adult/gerontological acute care nurse practitioner through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Leah works both in the acute care and clinic offering exceptional patient care. Her compassionate care and focus on evidence based practice is what sets her apart from other providers. Victor Amato, M.D., joined the MUSC Health team as a clinical Gastroenterologist after many years with Catawba Gastroenterology in Lancaster, SC. His residency training in Internal Medicine and Fellowship training in Gastroenterology were completed at Rutgers University Medical School in New Jersey in 1985 and 1988, respectively. He has been in continuous clinical practice in Gastroenterology since arriving in the Carolinas in 1988, with previous hospital affiliations in Charlotte, NC, and Albemarle, NC. He is proficient in endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP. Dr. Amato has extensive experience treating patients with swallowing disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease.
