Joseana Lopes Ferreira, MD

Dr. Joseana Lopes Ferreira is a board-certified family medicine physician with a diverse background in clinical care, research, and public health. She completed her medical residency in family medicine at the University of South Carolina’s Prisma Health Midlands Foundation, following her medical degree from Potiguar University in Brazil. Dr. Ferreira also holds dual pharmacy degrees, bringing a broad pharmacological perspective to her patient care. With a comprehensive background in emergency medicine, primary care, and clinical research, Dr. Ferreira’s clinical interests focus on chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and compassionate primary care for underserved populations. She has conducted research and presented internationally, including at the Wavefront & Presbyopic Congress in Denver, CO. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the South Carolina Medical Association. Dr. Ferreira speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently, enabling her to serve a diverse patient community.
