Dr. Matvey Tsivian is a board-certified, fellowship-trained urologic oncologist. Dr. Tsivian graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Bologna Medical School in Italy, followed by an internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. He then completed a urologic oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to joining MUSC Health in 2024, Dr. Tsivian was an Assistant Professor of Urology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Tsivian is quadrilingual, with a fluency in English, Hebrew, Russian, and Italian. He has published numerous articles related to urologic cancers and participates in many genitourinary oncology clinical trials. Dr. Tsivian is the Director of the Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Silvia Pereira-Smith is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician at MUSC. She completed training in general pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, where she was presented the “Excellency in Primary Care” award at graduation. She then pursued further training in developmental-behavioral pediatrics at MUSC in Charleston, where she also actively participated in various types of research projects, including a study about elopement behavior in children with autism spectrum disorder. As part of the MUSC Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Division, Dr. Pereira-Smith provides evaluation and ongoing care for children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other learning and behavioral conditions. She is trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
