Edward Morrison, MD

Dr. Brodie McKoy is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint preservation and reconstruction. In 2013, he performed the first robotic partial total knee and total hip procedures in South Carolina and now performs nearly 100% of total knee replacements using advanced robotic technology. His expertise includes shoulder and knee arthroscopy, cartilage transfer, and ligament reconstruction, as well as complex hip, knee, and shoulder reconstructions. Dr. McKoy is skilled in muscle-sparing direct anterior hip replacements and joint replacement surgery, and has advanced training in ortho-biologics and regenerative medicine. He offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections to support recovery without surgery, providing patients with innovative, personalized orthopedic care.

I pursued a career in medicine because I love helping patients design a tailored plan to meet their individual needs and goals, and I enjoy creatively solving problems. \n While serving in the Navy as an ob-gyn doctor and surgeon, I studied urogynecology with a fellowship-equivalent experienced physician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. \n Sharing knowledge is something I'm passionate about, and teaching is an important component of what I do. I'm a teaching surgeon and lecturer for sacral neuromodulation implants for bowel and bladder incontinence (Medtronic's InterStim) and am on the clinical faculty at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and Memorial Health University Medical Center (OB-GYN residency training program in Savannah, Georgia) for urogynecology.\n I'm a double board-certified urogynecologist with over 20 years of experience in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery (the new official name of our subspecialty). I treat urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, gynecologic reconstruction, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), overactive bladder, urinary urgency and frequency, painful intercourse, chronic constipation, advanced gynecology surgery needs, and more. \n In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons, and enjoying the beautiful city and natural coastal area around us in Charleston, South Carolina.

I am a fellowship-trained and dual board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopy or minimally invasive surgery. My interests include all sports or activity-related injuries, in particular complex knee injuries, knee ligament injuries, cartilage disorders as well as shoulder injuries. \n I obtained my medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, graduated from a residency in orthopedics at the University of Virginia and completed the prestigious sports medicine fellowship at Rush University in Chicago. I also earned an undergraduate degree in athletic training from Purdue University and a master's degree in physical therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. \n My on the field experience includes working with the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox, as well as the athletic departments of Purdue University, University of Virginia, James Madison University, DePaul University and Wabash College. I have also authored numerous journal articles and medical textbook chapters reporting on findings in basic science and clinical research. \n Previously, I was an assistant professor and orthopedic surgeon at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. While in Charleston, I also served as the lead team physician of several local high schools as well as the Charleston RiverDogs, the New York Yankees minor league baseball team. I was also the director of sports medicine at Mission Hospital and the lead team orthopedist for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, Asheville City Soccer, Asheville High School and the Asheville Tourists minor-league baseball team.
