Dr. Marcelo Fernandes is a native of Clemson (South Carolina) where he received his undergraduate degree at Clemson University. He received his medical degree from Duke University and earned an MPH at Yale School of Public Health. He trained at the University of Miami School of Medicine for internal medicine residency and served as a Chief Resident at the Miami VA Hospital. Dr. Fernandes went on to complete his cardiovascular fellowship at Emory University, where he obtained additional training in cardiac multimodality imaging and in valvular heart disease. Dr. Marcelo Fernandes has multiple published research works and has been invited to present at national conferences. He was the recipient of the Early Career Investigator Award selected by the American Heart Association. His professional interests include valvular heart disease, cardiac imaging, prevention/lipid management, and sports cardiology. Outside of work, Dr. Fernandes enjoys cycling, keeping up with his favorite sports teams, and reading books on American History.

David E. McNeely III, MD, is a general cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist with Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina. He currently serves as medical director of cardiovascular imaging for Prisma Health–Upstate and specializes in cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and structural imaging. His clinical interests include cardiovascular prevention, lipid management, congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease and valvular/structural heart disease. Dr. McNeely is a native of northeastern Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill and his cardiology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
