Melissa Hite, MD, joined Prisma Health Colon and Rectal Surgery after completing her general surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and fellowship training at Vanderbilt University. Her academic and clinical focus is on benign and malignant pathology in colorectal surgery. Her clinical interests include colon, rectal and anal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, and benign pathologies such as diverticular disease and anorectal disease. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, her dog and being outdoors.

St. Francis Hospital, located in Greenville, S.C., is a more than 250-bed, private-room facility. The hospital offers patients a complete range of comprehensive surgical and diagnostic services, including open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, bone marrow transplants, orthopedics and a 24-hour emergency department. The facility is part of the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, a community of caregivers that provides health care services. St. Francis is surveyed by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations to evaluate the organization s compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards.

Dr. Stanbro is a graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Okla. He completed an internal medicine residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH and a fellowship in peripheral vascular medicine with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a Fellow of the Society of Vascular Medicine, and a member of the American Society of Vein and Lymphatic Medicine and American Venous Forum. Prior to joining GHS is 2001, he practiced at the Vein Clinic of Kansas City. Among his special interests are varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, leg swelling and lymphedema.
