The Watch Hill Lighthouse Keepers Association (WHLKA) is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to preserving the historic Watch Hill Lighthouse in Westerly, Rhode Island since its founding in 1986. Over the past nearly 40 years, WHLKA has raised and contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to maintain the lighthouse and ensure responsible and free public access to the property.
On January 3, 2024, the ownership of the Watch Hill Lighthouse was officially transferred from the U.S. Government to WHLKA, following a thorough review and submission of proof of capability and historic preservation plans. With a mission to protect this iconic asset and preserve Westerly's maritime history, WHLKA remains committed to maintaining the lighthouse and providing generations to come with the opportunity to experience its beauty and significance.
