Located in Providence, R.I., the Statewide Planning Program prepares and maintains plans for the physical, economic, and social development of the state. It also provides plan implementation services and coordinates the actions of state, local and federal agencies and private individuals within the framework of the state's development goals and policies. The Statewide Planning Program is a part of the Rhode Island Division of Planning, which maintains a data center that provides information related to licenses, permits and surveys. Its office of housing and community development provides housing planning services and programs. The division coordinates with the community development activities of agencies.
