This is an amazing bit of nature and recreation, right in Providence. In the summer there's a Wednesday farmer's market from 3-6, and there are frequent weekend concerts at the top of the hill....

A nice little place here near the city to get some easy hiking in. There's also a skate park and baseball field here. I came to fly my drone.

It's hard to forgot that you're in the middle of a city between the sites, sounds, and random debris like old cars, but there's no other trail system like it nearby. And some of the views are...

Fort Barton

Fort Barton Site in Tiverton, Rhode Island, is a historic American Revolutionary War fort that now resides within a public park at Lawton and Highland Avenues. The fort's earthworks, spanning approximately 150 feet long and 100 feet deep, serve as a reminder of its strategic importance during the Battle of Rhode Island in 1778. Named after Lt. Col. William Barton, who famously captured British General Prescott in a daring raid, Fort Barton was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Its location overlooking the ferry crossing between Tiverton and Aquidneck Island played a crucial role in the region's military history during the Revolutionary War.Generated from the website
