Don Bealer is the founder and chief actuary of Bealer Consulting. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a member of the Casualty Actuaries of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Don graduated with honors from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics. He has more than thirty ( 30 ) years of experience in the insurance industry.Since forming Bealer Consulting during 1993, Don has been involved in a wide variety of projects. He has represented private clients in a variety of matters related to pricing, reserving, reinsurance, and expert witness testimony. His clients have included numerous disciplines such as insurance companies, governmental agencies, self-insurers, brokers, accounting firms, attorneys, and hospitals. Don has prepared numerous rate filings in recent years ( primarily for non-standard personal auto ). He also has worked extensively with self-insured plans that include Workers' Compensation and other commercial coverages.His company has represented six ( 6 ) state regulatory agencies ( Delaware, District of Columbia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont ) in reserving, pricing, and market conduct matters. These assignments included a reserve analysis for one of the largest reinsurers in the world and the preparation of expert witness testimony regarding rate filings from several companies. He has prepared an actuarial analysis of a company entering voluntary runoff and particpated in a market conduct exam.
