Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department, based in Edinboro, Pa., is responsible for fire protection and extinguishment in the city. It is also engaged in technical rescue situations, such as vehicle extrication, high-angle rescue operations and confined space and trench rescue. It uses two engine companies, a truck company and a rural water tanker. A majority of its members are cross-trained to provide fire and rescue support as well as emergency medical services.
