First timer last week and this is what local Lancaster eats needs to be. No hipster amenities, no pretenses, this is just a local shop that is obviously a big hit with those that know the owner...

Route 66 Restaurant serves So-Cal burgers and Philly style Cheesesteaks with the best and freshest ingredients cooked live while you are waiting. Our breakfast is made-to-order using cracked-to-order local eggs. Our home-cut fries are cut fresh daily using Idaho's best potatoes. We use Pine View Dairy's ice cream for our hand dipped milkshakes. This is in addition to other stuff like wings, salads, etc..

Go for the food. Not the ambiance. Service was quick and the food was great. Got the cheesesteak and my son got a double cheeseburger.

The tikka masala chicken cheesesteak is quite possibly the best sandwich offered in all of Lancaster City. Absolutely 10/10. Will be going back for a full sized sub.
