The Penn 7 Volunteer Fire Department has been providing firefighting, emergency medical care and rescue services since 1949. It offers basic life support and fire prevention and protection services. The Penn 7 Volunteer Fire Department maintains a range of rescue and fire handling equipment, such as hydraulic pumps, scene lighting devices, pumpers, water tankers, fire engines, high-pressure pumps, ladders, ambulances and traffic patrol cars. It serves local individuals and businesses and works to prevent life and private and public properties. The department additionally conducts a variety of fire prevention and safety education programs that provide information on various types of fire extinguishers and usage and preventive steps for avoiding fire accidents.
