Kerry Ellenberg, MD - West Penn OB/GYN Multispecialists

Dr. Daniel Altman is a nationally recognized expert in the field of orthopaedic spine and trauma surgery. He specializes in cervical disc surgery and disc replacement, lumbar disc surgery and spinal stenosis, spinal trauma, metastatic tumors of the spine, and minimally invasive spine surgery. Additionally, Dr. Altman also specializes in the treatment of complex extremity and pelvic fractures. Dr. Altman received his undergraduate degree from Allegheny College, and graduated from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in Spinal Surgery, after which he served as a Clinical Fellow and Instructor in Orthopaedic Trauma at Harvard Medical School/The Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Currently, Dr. Altman is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. He has served as the Director of Orthopaedic Spine Trauma at Allegheny General Hospital since 2004. He is passionate about education and directs the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at AHN. Along with his clinical and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Altman has maintained an active interest in research, which has resulted in over 40 publications in professional journals, including The Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has authored multiple book chapters and presented at numerous national and international meetings. Currently, his basic science research focuses on orthopaedic biofilms and their effect on bone healing. His clinical research is focused on improving outcomes after spinal and major orthopaedic injuries. Dr. Altman is a member of numerous medical societies and committees. These include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the North American Spine Society, and the Pan American Trauma Society. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Jaya M Mehta, MD, MSCP Dr. Mehta is a primary care physician with clinical interests in women’s health. In addition to her focuses on preventive health, she specializes in care surrounding perimenopause and post-menopause. Fellowship: completed Chief Medical Residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona 2018-2019 Schools; completed Bachelor of the Arts at University of California, Berkeley 2005-2009; completed MD at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University 2015-2018 Residency; completed Internal Medicine Residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona 2015-2018. Dr. Mehta is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as by the American Heart Association for advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS). She is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP). She welcomes patients 18 and older at Allegheny General Hospital Internal Medicine.

Dr. Ercolano received her medical degree from the University of California Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento California graduating with honors. She completed her surgical internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Department of Orthopaedics where she served as administrative chief resident. She received her fellowship training in orthopaedic oncology at the Harvard Combined/Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Ercolano has received numerous academic and clinical awards and honors. She is a published author of medical articles and abstracts on a wide variety of orthopaedic topics. She has been involved in various clinical research projects and has presented to medical audiences both locally and nationally. She holds professional memberships with the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, the National Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society. She is also a candidate member of MSTS and AAOS. Dr. Ercolano was named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's "Best Doctors" in 2020. Dr. Ercolano joins the physicians of Allegheny Orthopaedic Associates at the Human Motion Center. She has staffing privileges at Allegheny General Hospital and is accepting new patients of all ages.
