The most rewarding aspect of being a Dermatologist over the last 16 years has been the interactions I have had with my patients. I see approximately 10,000 patients per year and try to treat each patient as if they were my friend or relative. I believe that a large number of my patients would consider me to be their friend. I have always put my patient’s best interest at the forefront rather than what their insurance company wanted them to be treated with or whatever was easiest to get covered. I believe that medicine is based on science but that it is crucial for us to remember that patients are people first with loved ones, past experiences, and hopes for the future and their treatment has an impact on each of these.
