American Rescue Workers

American Rescue Workers (ARW) is a faith-based non-profit organization that has been providing crucial homelessness and hunger prevention services in Lycoming County since 1934. Their mission focuses on meeting the basic needs of men, women, and children facing emergency situations or homelessness through a combination of material and spiritual aid, including shelter programs and social services. ARW is dedicated to repurposing clothing, shoes, and lives, with impressive annual statistics that include over 3.5 million pounds of clothes donated, 750 individuals housed, and nearly 387,000 meals provided to shelter residents and community members. FAITHCENTRE is a Christian, faith-based umbrella of programs, services and facilities available to all persons. Our mission is to proclaim God's salvation and to minister to all people in order that they may accept God's grace in their hearts. Founded in 2003, FAITHCENTRE is a not-for-profit corporation under the provisions of Federal Code 501 ( c ) ( 3 ). Funds to support the Centre's programs and services come from sales at the Centre's Thrift Store, private donations and grants. All persons and groups are warmly welcomed to work as volunteers and/or to work with Centre staff on cooperative services, activities or program development and presentation.
