The Advocacy Alliance is a mental health association that serves people with various mental disabilities. Founded in 1955, the organization also provides culturally competent services and recovery support for children and adolescents with emotional disorders and adults with developmental disabilities. It also maintains a staff of skilled and professional advocates, medical practitioners and consultants that offers a range of community-based programs and support services. The Advocacy Alliance administers an incident management program that manages risk related to the health, safety and rights of individuals with mental disabilities. Its other services include community mental retardation and consumer financial management. In addition, the organization provides child, family and adult mental health advocacy services. The Advocacy Alliance maintains one of its locations in Pottsville, Pa.

Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill Nutrition & Wellness Center provides individual nutrition counseling and group classes. In this outpatient program, clients work with registered dietitians to help manage their lives and disease processes through a healthy approach to eating and lifestyle. Norwegian Street’s Nutrition & Wellness Center provides some of the area's most comprehensive dietetic counseling for children, teens, men and women, and older adults. -Individual and group nutrition counseling -Weight Management Classes -Pediatric Create Your Weight Pediatric Create Your Weight is a weight management program developed by registered dietitians certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Weight Management by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. In this eleven-week program, our registered dietitians work closely with parents to teach children to maintain a healthy weight, have confidence in their food choices, and make lifestyle changes that will keep their bodies healthy for life. Class includes child-friendly activities in an upbeat, supportive environment and a one-on-one session with the dietitian. -Adult Create Your Weight Adult Create Your Weight is an adult weight management program developed by registered dietitians utilizing evidence-based research and guidelines from the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. This twelve-week program will help you to improve your eating habits, lifestyle, and physical activity in order to meet your weight management goals. Class includes “The Appetite Awareness Workbook” and a one-on-one session with the dietitian.
