HistoryI have been working with families for over 10 years after my own difficulties feeding my baby led me down the path to learn more about lactation. My early days as a breastfeeding mom were fraught with tears and insecurity. I lacked proper professional support and couldn't find resources for accurate information. In an effort to learn more, I read every lactation (breastfeeding) book I could get my hands on and talked with other parents. I realized that, sadly, my story was not unique. I was able work through my challenges with luck and perseverance but many of my friends did not. I could see that years later the hurt from the loss of this relationship still stung. This was the catalyst which created my career working with breastfeeding families.SpecialtiesI recognize that feeding your baby is an intimate and important relationship which facilitates bonding and lifelong nutrition for both baby and parent. I respect your decisions and am here to help you along your personal path. As a lactation counselor, I have more than 9 years' experience working with families and over 10 years of personal breastfeeding experience with my own children! My goals are your goals. I seek to support you by offering evidence based information to guide your choices. I welcome all kinds of families into my practice and am pleased to serve LGBTQ families.
