History

I've been teaching voice since 2006 and performing and studying music for 25+ years. I'm a Certified graduate from TVI's (Transformational Voice Institute) Apprentice-Teacher Program and earned a B.A. from Bard College in Voice/Drama/Dance. I love teaching and love my students! My lessons have been described as: fun, encouraging, unique, helpful, energizing, break-through, transformative, and brilliant!

Anyone Can Sing! Private Voice Lessons - SE Portland All Levels welcome: Beginner to Advanced - Classical, Folk, Musical Theater, Rock, Pop, Jazz... Be inspired, have fun, and FREE your Authentic Voice! Singing is our birthright! Many are curious about singing, but may have been shut down by harmful comments like 'just be quiet' or 'you can't sing.' This may have put our inner critic into overdrive, and a natural desire to vocalize became stifled. When we drop our inner critic, we can explore singing with curiosity and freedom! As we let go of our ideals of perfection, come into 'the present moment', and explore in a non-judgmental way, we can find our authentic voice! Learning to sing means stretching the voice in a healthy way, without hurting ourselves. It involves releasing tension, maximizing the power of correct breathing, and finding our full resonance through various fun exercises with the help of a skilled, supportive teacher. Whether a true beginner who sings only in the shower, or a performer who'd like some helpful tools... anyone can dive into singing lessons! Learning to free your unique, authentic voice is a wonderfully transformative process!
