Saia Motor Freight Line is a subsidiary of Saia, a less-than-truckload provider of regional, interregional and guaranteed services covering nearly 35 states. Saia is home to the industry-leading Xtreme Guarantee product, which guarantees total customer satisfaction from pick-up through invoicing. The company offers complete North American coverage through partner agreements. It has more than 150 terminal locations, approximately 8,400 employees and more than 10,000 pieces of equipment. Saia was founded in 1924 with one terminal in Houma, La., and continued to expand with terminals throughout Louisiana and Texas. It continued to grow, expanding to 12 states with 76 terminals and more than 4,700 employees in the late 1990s. In 2001, SCS Transportation, a holding company was formed, with operating companies including Saia and Jevic Transportation. In 2002, SCS Transportation was spun off into an independent, publicly traded company. Saia Motor Freight Line maintains a location in Oklahoma City.
