The Youth Programs Division, also known as YPD, helps youths at risk throughout Oklahoma. The division has been in operation since 1993 and maintains the state tracking and reintegration system. The Youth Programs Division administers the Thunderbird Regimented Training Program, which offers classes in physical fitness, decision making and teamwork, as well as respect for authorities. It also operates the Thunderbird Youth Academy, which is also known as TYA and focuses on the development of work skills. The Thunderbird Youth Academy provides a range of alternate learning opportunities. The Youth Programs Division is a part of the Office of Resource Management, which is governed by the Oklahoma Military Department.
