Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, established in the early 1890s, offers Biblical studies, sermons and spiritual lessons to its congregation. In the early year, the church relocated on several occasions, till it was finally housed in the present building in 1929. The church has a congregation of more than 8,000 members and is located in the heart of downtown Tulsa, Okla. It supports local and national missions across the United States. These include ministries such as health and welfare, religion and race, church and society and status and role of women in the community. The church also operates day care centers for the homeless and for children with special needs. It also has several programs for the youth and adults such as music and drama, Sunday school, camps and retreats, Bible study classes and a range of support groups.
