The Ukrainian Museum-Archives in Cleveland, OH, takes pride in preserving Ukrainian culture and the immigrant experience. Founded in 1952 by scholars dedicated to safeguarding Ukrainian history and heritage, the museum houses a remarkable collection of artifacts from the 12th to 18th centuries.
With a focus on collecting and conserving items that were at risk of destruction in Soviet Ukraine, the UMA has amassed over 45,000 books, 1,800 periodical titles, and a significant post-WWII Displaced Persons Camps collection. While the UMA Front Museum Building is currently undergoing construction, guests can still access the museum through the Gallery/Archive Building.
