North Canton Hoover High School

Hoover High School offers classes in English, mathematics, social studies, science, art, foreign languages, and health and physical education. It has a career center that allows students to explore their interests, aptitudes and abilities relates to career choices. The school has an athletics department that offers several sports activities, such as basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, track, lacrosse, golf, wrestling, tennis, hockey, cross county and swimming. Its library and media center provides a variety of fiction and nonfiction books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, magazines and newspapers. ABOUT North Canton Playhouse Mission The North Canton Playhouse Center for the Performing Arts is a charitable and educational institution, whose mission is to provide entertainment, enrichment, education and to encourage theatrical arts throughout North Canton Community, Stark County and the Northeastern Ohio area. North Canton Playhouse History This year, the North Canton Playhouse will be continuing the tradition of extraordinary community theatre with its 33rd consecutive season. Founded in 1976 by Leonard and Mary McManaway, and John and Sue Leonatti, North Canton Playhouse's first production, Mame, was performed at Hoover High School South Campus in October, 1976.

North Canton Heritage Society is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1972. It is a member of the Ohio Historical Society, Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums, the Hoover Historical Center and the North Canton Chamber of Commerce. It preserves, protects and shares the history and heritage of North Canton. It has collections of home accessories, ladies and men s apparel, books, military uniforms and photographs. North Canton Heritage Society s gift shop offers videos, books, miniatures, note cards and postcards. It has various resources, including family genealogies, Ohio history books, news clippings, atlases, North Canton High School and Hoover High School yearbooks and old street directories.
