I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in psycho-oncology, psychosocial distress, behavioral sleep medicine, chronic pain management, weight management, relaxation training and coping with chronic illness. In my role, I strive to provide thoughtful, compassionate care to patients by helping them to identify areas of change and guide them in learning the most appropriate coping strategies to use for overcoming emotional distres s a member of the Psychosocial Oncology Program at the OSUCCC - James, I provide evidence-based counseling services to patients with a history of cancer and-or to their caregiver(s) to help improve emotional and social well-being, as well as overall quality of life. Patients complete a formal evaluation for a personalized care plan to address their individual needs, ranging from emotional distress to improving their ability to cope with side effects of cancer and its treatment y research interests include psycho-oncology and quality of life during treatment for cancer and cancer survivorship. Specifically, my research focuses on evaluating longitudinal patterns in health-related quality of life, cancer-related distress, health disparities and cultural factors, and the development and evaluation of psychosocial interventions in cancer patient population n addition to my clinical and research work, I am an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. I also serve as co-chair on the Evidence-Based Behavioral Medicine Special Interest Group for the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
