Being in operation since 1888, American Excelsior Inc. manufactures and distributes flexible foam, erosion control products and excelsior wood fiber. It has complete lines of products for packaging, cushioning and evaporative cooling as well. The company produces natural wood fiber, called, Curlex, which is used for applications in ceiling board construction, packaging, display, erosion and sediment control and even as a filter media for oil. American Excelsior Inc. operates one of the largest excelsior mills in the United States located in Rice Lake, Wis.
