The business was in addition to picking up canned milk at area dairy farms 7 days a week. In 1968, Harold & Irene opted to sell the milk route & purchase a vacuum truck, a van, and a cable sewer cleaning machine. Business increased at a steady rate, & portable toilet rentals became another service offered. In 1972, a partner came into the business, & until 1976 it was Darr & Konst CleaningIn 1976, as Darr's Cleaning once again, the 1st high pressure sewer jet was purchased. The furnace cleaning & portable toilet rental went to Konst Cleaning.In 1987, Randy Darr began working for the business, & became a partner in 1988. By this time, the company had expanded to 5 trucks.In 1990, the 1st TV inspection unit was purchased, a portable black & white system with a 500 ft hand cranked reel. It did not take long to figure out that something a bit nicer was needed. In 1991, a color truck system was added to the fleet. The size of our workforce was increasing.1998, horrible tragedy struck. Our brother, business partner, & friend Randy Darr was killed by a train at a blind crossing while running business errands on a Saturday morning. He left behind a wife & 3 young daughters that meant the world to him. He was 32.Present time, the business continues to grow at the same gradual pace. Harold Darr is still active in the business, but enjoys not having the pressures of management.
