Waxhaw Forward is a collaborative initiative aimed at addressing the current transportation challenges and accommodating the growth of Waxhaw, NC. Their innovative approach ensures that the cost of new infrastructure, such as the much-needed Waxhaw Parkway, is not burdened on the current town taxpayers.

Through partnerships with private developers, Waxhaw Forward creates a Municipal Service District (MSD) to generate revenues exclusively for the construction of the Parkway. The MSD includes developed properties along the planned Parkway, which pay a higher property tax rate, while new residents and commercial property owners within these developments also contribute to the MSD. Once the Parkway is completed and fully funded, the MSD and additional tax rate will be eliminated, ensuring no costs to existing Waxhaw taxpayers.
