The American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT) has been dedicated to providing environmentally sustainable public access to managed properties for educational, scientific, recreational, and cultural purposes since its inception in 1986. With over 3,800 acres preserved in the Parkers Creek and Governors Run watersheds, ACLT invites the public to explore its 26 miles of trails, which showcase diverse ecosystems and natural flora and fauna.
In addition to offering guided hikes and canoe trips throughout the year, ACLT practices regenerative farming at its Double Oak Farm, donating produce to local food pantries. As a member-supported nonprofit, ACLT relies on the generosity of its members, donors, and volunteers to continue its mission of preserving and conserving natural and cultural resources for future generations.
