After receiving its initial assets of $45 million from Cape Fear Memorial Hospital the Foundation board began a prudent investment and granting strategy. Since 1996, the Foundation has made grants in excess of $25 million in support of over 160 organizations while growing its assets to more than $70 million. This growth in assets and effective granting will make possible increased granting efforts in the future.
