In 1900 Leopold Stickley and his younger brother, John George, bought a furniture factory and incorporated it four years later as L. & J.G. Stickley. Their first furniture line, handcrafted mission oak, was an aesthetic that stressed function and beauty. In 1916, changing public taste inaugurated the Cherry Valley Collection that consisted of classic American designs made of solid cherry wood. Considered as one of America's most distinctive cherry lines, Stickley furniture is recognized for its authentic designs and integrity of construction. By 1957, the company was one of the most recognized furniture companies in the United States. In addition to the historic Mission Collection, it also produces traditional 18th century pieces, select pieces from the Williamsburg Reserve Collection, 21st century, metropolitan, French and Stickley Fine Upholstery collections. L. & J.G. Stickley is located in Archdale, N.C.

Founded in 1950, Directional is a manufacturer and wholesaler of household and institutional furniture. It serves clients in the United States and provides products to the home furnishing industry. The company offers multiple fabrics, cords, fringes and other decorative products. Directional manufactures chairs, benches, sofas, beds, chaises, sectionals and lighting accessories. It distributes products through JBS Environments, Connecticut Design Center, D.S.A Associates, Judith Norman Collection, Pauline Grace and Lam Lee Home. The company is owned and operated by Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth & Directional.
