I went vegetarian at a young age and that sparked my passion for nutrition and health. I've always wanted to work in the healthcare field, since I enjoy helping people and find it rewarding to make a difference in someone else's life. \n I completed my undergraduate degree in nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and subsequently completed my Master of Science in nutrition and dietetic internship at Appalachian State University. My boyfriend and I share our home with two energetic dogs - a German shepherd and a border collie - and a mischievous black cat, while my parents' beagles, Stella and June, hold a special place in my heart. \n My hobbies include reading, hiking, crocheting, knitting and baking, often treating friends and family to homemade sweets. I'm also a runner and greatly enjoy getting outside to run, especially in the refreshing air of spring and fall.
