The Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Kensankai Karate Kobudo Dojo in Hendersonville, NC is a traditional karate school dedicated to teaching the ancient art of Okinawan Shorin-ryu karate. Led by Hanshi Doug Perry, a retired US Marine Corps Major with over 60 years of karate experience, and Sensei Patrick Lang, a 5th Dan black belt, the dojo focuses on developing the body, mind, and spirit to their maximum potential through character development, discipline, and self-reliance.
With a system of karate that originated in Shuri, Okinawa hundreds of years ago, the dojo offers a well-rounded approach to self-defense using both hands and feet. Hanshi Perry's exemplary personal example and insistence upon pure karate inspire all true martial artists, while Sensei Lang's goal is to preserve and continue training and teaching with the principles and philosophies established by his predecessor. If you are interested in studying karate in the true spirit of the art, the Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Kensankai Karate Kobudo Dojo welcomes you to join their dojo.
