The Buncombe County Department of Social Services is a full-service public agency that is operated by Buncombe County in North Carolina, which manages administration, budget and finance, human resources, planning and development, solid waste, taxation and transportation departments. The Buncombe County Department of Social Services works to prevent the abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable citizens, as well as, promote self-reliance and -sufficiency for individuals and families. The department provides adult care home case management, licensing and monitoring services. It also offers safety and permanence to children by preserving and strengthening families through family-centered, child-focused and community-based services.
