Guilford County Schools

Southwest Elementary School is a part of Guilford County Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Southwest Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five. Ragsdale High School offers various academic programs related to cultural arts, math, social studies, English, science and physical education. It also offers career and technical education classes in computer applications, marketing and business law. The school additionally provides courses in Latin, French and Spanish. Its sports programs include football, volleyball, soccer, tennis, golf, basketball, wrestling, swimming and track. Located in Jamestown, N.C., Ragsdale High School has an enrollment of more than 1,500 students in grades 9 through 12. Its media center serves as a multimedia unit for learning resources and services and provides a variety of print and nonprint materials and equipment for students and faculty members. Ragsdale High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
